i've gone out of garibaldi, oregon, with garibaldi charters twice, and would recommend them. once on the d & d, then on the norwester. halibut fishing both times. also out of ilwaco, wa, for salmon. brought back 1-chinook (18-20 lbs) and 1- coho (14-16 lbs).

if steelhead's your thing, try the lewis river in wa. my guide both times was cameron black (gonecatchin@gmail.com). young guy with lots of washington river knowledge, columbia river, etc...he's got a nice boat, nice gear, good manner about him. i'm using him again in the next few weeks.
