First off this is not a censorship issue. The airwaves are public and we own them.
On the July the 13th nationally syndicated radio show host PK of the Playhouse made repeated request for his listeners (18 26 males) to perform acts of violence to cyclist while driving. Mysteriously, the Internet archive of the show has been removed and the radio station is not making it available to us to give to the FCC. Here in Portland, Oregon there has been an increase of drivers harassing cyclists since the broadcast.
My request is for you to visit the following web site that has sound bites of a show I recorded and edited.
web.pdx.edu/~jasun/haters/
Upon reviewing the above website please leave the general manager Tim McNamara a message at 503-243-7595, extension 216.
Most vital please fill out an FCC complaint form at:
www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html
for the F-Bomb dropped on Monday July the 17th at approximately 6:00AM.
The reason for this is that if a massive amount of complaints, which MySpace can do, are lodged against Jammin 95.5 the FM license can be striped from them and made available for the local college and high school to provide Portland with a city wide FM alternative to corporate media control.
Please repost to the world.

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 12:27 PMNo that is not the same station. Marconi Ibelieve is on a "calssic rock" station, but Icould be wrong about that.
No Jammin 95.5 is a hip-hop station just slightly off from KNRK 94.7 alternative rock.
Does that clear it up for you Madame B? -

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 12:29 PMum, yah sort of. I don't really listen to the radio stations so i'm not sure of all the call numbers, but i know NRK. I know i caught a few of those Marconi shows back in the day when he was on NRK and i HATED him.

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 12:31 PMI'm in that same boat for the most part. The only reason I have any clue there is because my ex listened to jammin.
I only listen to the Chill show on NRK other than that I stay away from the radio. -

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 12:35 PMooh, however.. NRK also has an indy show on sat or sunday mornings called "gooey kids stuff" or something? It's awesome.
anyway, i digress... that shit calling for violence against bicyclists is pure retardation. Why is it that some groups of people just fit into this perfect little stereotype.
DAMN! -

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 12:51 PMNot too sure, but it could have something to do with anger management issues, or possibly plain old egotism. You know "let's see if what I say over the airwaves really get's into peoples heads"
No matter how you look at it it's still provoking people into doing something illegal, un-professional and flat out uncalled for. -

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 12:55 PMI prefer Sirius satellite radio!! No lame DJs! -

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 2:07 PMYou could always send him hate mail also, as a matter of fact I'm sure you could find his adress and plaster his house with flyers saying that he wishes death upon cyclist throughout the PDX area. is that too far overboard? -
-
Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 2:25 PMcould be a little too far, at this point. If within the next 5 days a fellow cyclist is harmed by any driver, I would make the connection back to PK.
Ive always hated that SOB. he is on comcast cable access and makes me sick. Never would I listen to a main stream, commercialized radio station anyway, or support them in any way, but when I heard about this, I just HAD to take the time to make my voice heard.
This IS unacceptable and he needs to be terminated!!!!!!!!!!! -

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 2:31 PMYea hafter having to listen to them ofr a few years because of my ex I actually didn't really mind him or the show but as of late he has gotten a little out of hand in some ways and this shows it. I caught the show on cable also and it really turned me off of the whole thing. I never listen to the radio except for what little listed earlier.

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 2:53 PMAfter making the complaint call and actually hearing BOTH sides to the WHOLE story, I can relate with where PK is coming from.
1 point here is that cyclists MUST also obey ALL road rules as all drivers should.
Just because I ride a bike to work everyday doesnt mean I can run through that traffic light, or blow through a stop sign, or even turn without signalling.
Final point - if you dont obey the rules, you pay the price. I signal all my turns, I stop at all stops, I ride respectfully.

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 2:56 PMThese things are true, but it still goes way over the line to say that people should start hitting cyclist. -
-
Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 3:15 PMHe never said people should start hitting cyclists, he said, if you are a cyclist and run a light, blow a stop sign or cut in front of traffic with no signal, he wouldnt care if you got you hit.
Frankly, I can agree. Again, I need to stress that I am a daily bike commuter, I dont own a car, so rely on my biking daily, for everything. But if a fellow cyclist runs through a stop sign and gets hit broadside by a car that stopped for the opposite stop sign, I wouldnt feel too bad for them. It was the cyclists fault.
Obey the rules, you wont get hurt.
Share the road, share the rules!!!

Re: National radio show incites drivers to be violent to cyclist
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 10:43 PMI have to disagree with "Obey the rules, you wont get hurt".
I obey the rules and I've still be hit by drivers.
