Hi everyone! I'm a PSU student majoring in Community Development, and I'm currently in USP 303 where we implement our project that we planned the term before. Our team "City Slickers" is teaming up with the Portland Downtown Neighborhood Association to raise membership and find out what people's real thoughts and concerns are about living and working downtown. If any of you live, work, or study within the PDNA boundaries (roughly from Burnside to Lincoln, and no further than hwy 405) we'd love to hear your thoughts! We made an online survey that asks some specific questions, but also leaves room for more general comments. Check it out here: tinyurl.com/6frch3

--------------------------------
Good Morning All,
So, here is the info. regarding the next general meeting the PDNA is holding. It is important to invite as many people as you can!
When: May 19th, 7:00-8:30pm
Where: PSU-Smith Memorial Student Union, first floor, Parkway North (room name) It is the room to the left of the food court thing. It has the stage and tables and chairs where most people eat.
What: Downtown Vision, complimentary snacks/beverages, time for mingling and meeting new groups/individuals,
Most importantly it is a way to get your opinion heard by the neighborhood association. They want to represent the ideas of the neighborhood, not what they think may be desired. All ideas will be charted and used at later meetings to form committees and focus their efforts. There will be a chance to become a member and meet others who share your concerns/desires for downtown. Also, we will be giving info. about the next board elections. We are inviting people who work for the city, but don't guarantee them anything!
Encourage people to come :) $1.5 billion to be spent in their neighborhood by 2009, and PDNA will represent their voice to the city.
