Join other Portlanders at the Greener Homes and Gardens Expo on May 17/18 and become more self-sustained in your garden by attending free seminars about making your own soil amendments, caring for urban chickens, managing small–scale beekeeping, harvesting rainwater, incorporating pet-friendly gardening techniques, utilizing permaculture practices and more.

Equipped with the know-how to connect with nature’s bounty, you can also connect with fellow gardener, farmers and neighbors. Participate in the age-old tradition of seed swaping, hosted by NW RAGE, by sharing your organic and native flora/food seeds with your community. There will be plenty for all, so come empty handed if you must and leave empowered to lessen your carbon footprint. Non-profits and local nurseries will also be providing a Start Market so you can buy ready-to-transfer plants at great prices to start your garden right away!

And yes, there’s more! Come relax in our Alternative Ride and Drive-In Theater with such films as “The Dirt on Farmer John”, “King Corn”, and “The Future of Food”. The seed swap, seminars and films are being held at the 6th Annual Greener Homes & Gardens Expo which features 100's of informative and exciting exhibits that highlight green and sustainable options focusing on the home, garden and alternative transportation. A suggested donation of $3 directly benefits the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Please visit www.GreenerHomesandGardens.com for more information.
